ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

 

The essential functions of the Service Technician - Electrician are to provide general electrical repairs and services.  This position handles service calls to customers in their homes and utilizes customer service training to educate and assist customers in choosing service, products and finance options.

 

QUALIFICATIONS

Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.  This individual must be willing to pursue, develop and participate in continuing education.    The Service Technician must meet or exceed shop minimums set for the Dot Program or its equivalent.

 

Must know local electrical codes and be able to apply them in a practical manner on each job.  Must be able to work with inspectors, suppliers and co-worker technicians to ensure correct project work, while abiding by all codes.  Must be able to draw simple wiring diagrams and be able to read other diagrams.   Must be capable of following a wiring diagram on tracing installed wire.  Must be able to install electrical hardware such as junction boxes, and circuit breaker units.

 

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

Required:  A high school diploma or equivalent.

A minimum of four years experience including hands on training and or work is required.

Complete knowledge of current electrical codes required.

Formal Theory & Technical Schooling.

Former Sales Experience in a similar field.

 

 

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Must be able to read and write English well enough to read and prepare invoices time sheets and proposals.

 

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Must be able to successfully complete mathematical aptitude evaluation.

 

REASONING ABILITY

Must be capable of applying sound business judgment to all decisions.

 

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS

Must have and maintain a valid driver?s license.  Must have appropriate current state or local license if required.

 

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

Regularly requires sitting, walking, bending, and lifting for prolonged periods of time.

 

The employee must have a full range of body movements including the use of hands feet and fingers to handle or feel objects and must be capable of bending, reaching, and crouching.  Able to handle or feel objects and use tools and equipment and must be capable of bending, reaching, crouching, climbing and crawling.

 

Must have command of all five senses sight, hearing, touch, smell and taste.  Specific vision abilities required include close vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust and focus.  Must hear and speak well enough to conduct business over the telephone or face to face for long periods of time.

 

Must be able to lift 100 pounds.

 

WORK ENVIRONMENT

This position will require working indoors and outdoors in various climate conditions ranging from very cold with rain to very hot and humid. This includes attics, crawl spaces, and confined locations.  The employee may be called upon to be in customer or service production sites on an as need to basis. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.

 

Priority 1 Electric is a 24-hour service company so you will be required to be on call after hours and for emergencies.  Typical business hours are from 7:00 am - 3:30 pm, Monday through Friday.
